General FAQs
The most important part of the preservation process is to get your flowers preserved sooner than later. We will schedule ahead of time when the flower exchange happens after your event, either that day of the day after. From there, based on your selection, we will take your flowers and preserve them in professional-grade silica gel for flower preservation. They will need to sit for at least two weeks to fully dry, sometimes more depending on the type of flower. The silica gel holds the shape of the flower while pulling out the moisture. It is important to note that some flowers will not preserve exactly as they are when fresh. Technically, the flowers will be dead and that water loss can also mean a change in color. Some reds and oranges will get darker, some whites can turn to more of an antique white/cream color. No matter the preservation process, that will be the case. Hey, it’s nature!
We no longer offer dried flowers to be returned. Any flowers provided to us become flowers for us to use in your resin pieces and any remaining flowers become property of Forever Flowers of WNY.
Yes! Did you miss out on having your flowers preserved from a previous event? Do you need a unique anniversary gift? We can use photos from a previous event to recreate your flowers and create something special to make those memories last forever! An extra fee will be applied to cover the cost of the flowers if they are not provided.
Getting a message that your event already happened and you just realized you want to save your flowers breaks my heart. Unfortunately, by the time your event is all said and done, your flowers will be declining in shape and health. It also takes planning ahead on my part to make sure I am ready to preserve your flowers. Although the flowers may be on their last leg, we can still talk about options to re-create your flowers with a fresh bouquet from your florist. Currently we only take funeral flowers post-event.
Preserving the flowers themselves will take 2-3 weeks alone to prepare and clean them after preservation. Depending on the creation method you chose, it may take an additional 4-6 weeks to make your creation happen.
The following flowers are best recommended for drying: Roses, Spray Roses. Carnations, Baby’s Breath, Hydrangeas, Eucalyptus, Dahlia, Sunflower, Lavender, Columbine, Stock, Larkspur, Zinnias, Amaranthus, Poppy, Anemone, Sweet Pea, Alstroemeria, Scabiosa, Wax Flower, Butterfly Bush, Clover, Cosmos, Snapdragon, Daffodill, Delphinium, Freesia, Pansy, Marigold, Nigella, Daisy, Phlox, Dianthus, Queen Anne’s Lace, Yarrow, Gerbera Daisy, Straw Flower, Hellebore, Celosia, Ranunculus, Peonies & colored Orchids. We are currently working to expand this list. Berries/Hypericum, waxy greens, and succulents do not dry well, but can be replaced by faux replacements provided by you or omitted. We no longer preserve white Orchids, Lillies, Calla Lillies, white Lisianthus, Tulips, Mums/Chrysanthemums, or white Roses. If you want white roses preserved, we can make an exception but you agree that white roses will show a color change and damage, no matter how careful you are.
What a great idea! If this is something you would like to gift to someone, we can work with you to go about communicating this to your gift recipient. Paper gift certificates are also available.

Resin FAQs
Have an idea that we don’t offer? Let us know and we can see if we can make that happen. We currently do not plan to offer resin letters, coasters, trays, or jewelry.
First off, it is important to treat your resin-like glass. It is fragile and can dent if dropped. Also, all resin is prone to yellowing over time. It’s just the nature of the chemicals. The best way to keep that process from happening is to keep it our of any sunlight or UV light. Although they would look great by the window, your piece would be much happier under indoor light. Dusty? Microfiber clothes are great at cleaning the resin creations, or with soap and water.
It happens! Your flower preservation pieces are custom pieces of art, that deal with liquid and chemicals. Although we do our best to avoid all bubbles, they do happen. Sometimes there are small air pockets within the flowers that eventually rise. Some small bubbles may exist. Personally we think it just makes your piece unique and one-of-a-kind. As for the flowers and greens, some more fragile parts to your flower or greens can move around as the resin sets. You may notice in resin samples that any dried plants can “bruise” as the resin hits. Sometimes it looks like the part of the plant is thinner or see-though. This is something that we cannot predict until the resin sets around the flower. It is caused by previous damage to the flowers, all more the reason to be extra careful with your flowers before handing them off to us! Swirling may also be seen in the resin due to the nature of mixing chemicals.
We do offer some smaller resin pieces. These smaller pieces can be added to any resin block order.
Once the flowers are dried, it’s time for the best part – showcasing those beautiful flowers! Putting flowers into resin will take the longest because we need to be sure the flowers are dried before getting encased in the resin (otherwise the flowers can brown and rot if any moisture is trapped). From the point the flowers are dried, it can take an additional 3-4 weeks to make your resin creation. Start to finish from your event, that’s about 6 weeks, although that can be subject to change.
Yes! There are certain things we can add in, like a photo or an object. We just want to make sure you know that the item will be forever in that resin; there is no going back after we pour.
At this time I do not offer resin trays. Resin trays require a different type of resin that would not get scratched or dented. Resin is also very heavy and would not make a usable tray. Also, trays require flowers to be flat and I currently do not offer pressed flowers. I am hoping to expand to pressed flowers someday!
